New 3DS and 3DS XL Models and New Smash Character!

Hey Gamers!
That is right! Nintendo of Japan announced this in their Nintendo Direct, which you can watch below.

They also announced Shulk for the new Smash Bros. which pretty much confirms the leaks. They also announced Xenoblade Chronicles on 3DS but it appears that it will only work with the New 3DS. So what all is "New" about the New 3DS? How about a montage of pictures that will show?

Okay for those that don't understand the pictures here is the laydown.
  • Button layout is similar to the SNES controller and color scheme for that one model.
  • New "C-Stick" above buttons.
  • Better 3D range that works with Gyroscope.
  • Bottom Screen supports Amiibo
  • Micro-SD card slot on the inside
  • Interchangeable face plates
  • Second trigger for L and R
  • Home button is on the bottom
  • Improved CPU and internal hardware
  • Menu themes
  • Game card slot, power, and headphone slot on the bottom
  • Volume and 3D sliders are on the top screen
So the New 3DS is a literal new system but it still plays all 3DS games but apparently newer games will run really slow on older 3DS or not at all. I really hope they change the name cause as of now there will be tons of confusion with the 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, and now the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. And now for the price:

This roughly translates to about $140 and $180. And plus you know that Nintendo will have a trade-in system for your 3DS or 3DS XL. Does this also mean we can expect to see more virtual console games? I can guarantee that we will get SNES virtual console on handheld but we should also look forward to Gamecube games and N64 games. It's bound to happen!

What do you gamers think? I am so excited for this, we can expect to see this around Christmas or early 2015. Remember to keep on gaming!
