Megaman Online

Hey Gamers!
So this starts off a brand new section of my blog that involves cancelled games. The image above is for Megaman Online. So you maybe be wondering how a game like Megaman can be played as an MMO. Well just imagine a bunch of people running around on an 2-D screen and shooting a bunch of enemies. Can't image that? Well watch these videos of gameplay to better understand.

Still don't get it? Here is another!

So the premise of the game is that it's in the far future where all the Megaman and Megaman X characters have been deactivated for the world is finally at peace... but since this is a video game there is never peace (much like the real world I guess). Reploids (humanoid robots) start to go maverick and the United Continent Association (U.C.A. for short) decides to reactivate and make clones of Megaman, Zero, Megaman X and many other robots that used to fight Mavericks.
Since the Reploids go maverick, of course that has to be evil people and evil Mavericks to try and take over the world. The United Reploid Association (U.R.A. for short) is the head of this movement and are considered the bad guys.
Okay so we have a general feel of how the game would have played. So now we go into what ever happened to the game, well the game was announced in June 2010 and was going to be a joint project between Capcom and South Korean game company Neowiz Games. The game was officially cancelled early 2013 right after the cancellation of Megaman Universe, Megaman Legends 3 and a lesser known title called Maverick Hunter. So we all know that Capcom has pretty much given up on Megaman which is a shame because this game would have been pretty awesome and I would have played it. One selling point they could have used is let people choose between the U.C.A. or the U.R.A. because I would have enjoyed playing as both Megaman and Sting Chameleon. Apparently the game was going to have every chracter since the first game in here including the original 8 bosses and even Protoman and Bass. It's sad to hear about the loss of a potentially great game, but I could also see why, the game is pretty risky especially for a MMO type game. I do love the idea of a side scrolling MMO though, I feel like it could work right.

Below I have the announcement trailers for Megaman Online, be warned it's kind of long... but epic.

So after watching these trailers I have come upon my own conclusion, if they never make this a game they should definitely make this into an anime. I feel like a Megaman anime could be very successful, just look at Archie's lineup of Megaman comics (which are amazing BTW.)

It just saddens me that we might never get another Megaman game... Or will we? Stay tuned on here to find out!

Remember to keep playing!
